About this webinar
Cyber-enabled scam compounds, responsible for so-called “pig-butchering” schemes, have become one of the fastest-growing drivers of large-scale financial fraud worldwide. In these schemes, scammers (often based in Southeast Asia) will build relationships with targets (often in the West) over weeks or months before persuading victims to invest in fraudulent cryptocurrency platforms. As these criminal enterprises professionalize, they are adopting increasingly sophisticated tactics to recruit and control labor, manage victim pipelines, and sustain high-volume fraud across multiple platforms and jurisdictions.
This growing threat has caught the attention of top government officials and regulators. In an October 2025 press release, Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent said the Treasury is “working in close coordination with federal law enforcement and international partners like the United Kingdom” and “will continue to lead efforts to safeguard Americans from predatory criminals."
In this webinar, we will cover:
The scam ecosystem: How call center compounds function and why they are expanding globally.
Impact on finance: What this growth means for financial institutions and the global economy.
